Brand Story
The story of G&M Australian Creams begins with a simple observation made in Australia's sheep-shearing sheds. Workers who spent their days handling raw wool noticed something remarkable: despite the harsh Australian sun, extreme dryness, and constant physical work, their hands remained incredibly soft and supple.
The secret was lanolin — the natural oil found in sheep's wool. Unlike synthetic moisturisers, lanolin has a molecular structure remarkably similar to human skin lipids, allowing it to penetrate deeply and lock in moisture at the cellular level. A single molecule of lanolin can hold up to 400 times its weight in water.
Founded in Sydney in 1996, G&M built its product line around lanolin-based formulations. Nearly three decades later, G&M Australian Creams is widely stocked at Woolworths, Coles, Chemist Warehouse, and independent pharmacies across Australia, making it one of the most accessible lanolin skincare brands in the country.
The cream is formulated using lanolin sourced from Australian Merino sheep — considered the finest wool-producing breed in the world. The lanolin is extracted through a gentle 12-step purification process at low temperatures, preserving its natural bioactive properties. Combined with Vitamin E for antioxidant protection and glycerin for additional moisture retention, the formula delivers 24-hour deep hydration without greasiness or pore-clogging.
G&M's "8 Free" formulation excludes mineral oil, parabens, artificial colours, SLS/SLES, alcohol, triclosan, phthalates, and formaldehyde. The brand has a long-running family-friendly positioning, including for sensitive skin (patch-test before first use). Every batch is manufactured in ISO 9001 certified facilities.
