Quality & Certifications
Our direct-retail (OSS-owned) SKUs are GS1-registered under XYX Holdings (prefix 93, Australia) and held to the certifications appropriate to each category. Curated partner-brand products carry their own brand owner's barcodes and certifications. The breakdown below shows exactly which certifications apply to which products — and which do not.
Our Selection Criteria
Locally Produced
Every product must be produced in compliance with Australian regulations and standards.
Rigorously Tested
Products must pass through strict quality testing systems before joining our portfolio.
Traceable Sourcing
Raw materials must be clearly traceable and sourced from reliable, stable suppliers.
Scalable Supply
Partners must demonstrate consistent production capacity and stable supply capabilities.
Product Traceability
Our direct-retail (OSS-owned) SKUs carry GS1-registered EAN barcodes under XYX Holdings (prefix 93, Australia). Curated partner-brand products carry their own brand owner's barcodes — these are listed for reference and the issuing organisation is the respective brand owner, not OSS. Each product page that shows an EAN displays the complete GTIN-13, ingredients, origin and manufacturer details.
Certifications in our supplier network
These are the audited standards held by manufacturers across our portfolio. No single product carries every certification listed — different product categories carry different certifications. The "Which certifications apply to what" table further down maps each one to the SKUs it covers.
BRC Global Food Safety Standard
Internationally recognised food safety and quality certification, ensuring products meet the highest global standards for safety, integrity, legality, and quality.
Good Manufacturing Practice
Ensures products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. Minimises risks involved in pharmaceutical and food production.
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points
A systematic preventive approach to food safety that addresses physical, chemical, and biological hazards throughout the production process.
NASAA Certified Organic
National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia. One of Australia's leading organic certification bodies, ensuring products meet strict organic standards.
Therapeutic Goods Administration
Australia's regulatory authority for therapeutic goods. "TGA Listed" (AUST L) products are registered with the TGA for low-risk therapeutic claims; not the same as fully TGA Approved (AUST R).
ISO 9001 Quality Management
International standard for quality management systems. Demonstrates the ability to consistently provide products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Marine Stewardship Council
Recognises and rewards sustainable fishing practices. MSC-certified seafood is traceable to a certified sustainable fishery.
Dolphin Safe
International monitoring programme ensuring tuna is caught using methods that do not harm dolphins. Verified by the Earth Island Institute.
Halal Certified
Certification that products comply with Islamic dietary laws, covering ingredients, processing, and handling standards.
Kosher Certified
Certification that products comply with Jewish dietary laws, covering ingredients, production processes, and equipment.
Rating systems (not audited certifications)
Australian Health Star Rating
A government-supported front-of-pack labelling system that rates packaged food on a 0.5-to-5 star scale based on its nutritional profile. The rating is calculated from the product's ingredients per the Health Star Rating Calculator and self-declared by manufacturers; ours is independently spot-audited but is not an audited certification in the same sense as BRC or GMP.
Which certifications apply to what
The table below is the authoritative mapping. The full per-SKU certification list is also displayed on each individual product page.
Dairy (OCEANIA GOLD milk powder)
All 4 OCEANIA GOLD milk-powder SKUs (full-cream, skim, goat, senior) carry the same certification set, manufactured by Dairy-Pac International (Thomastown VIC).
Grains (Otway Pure oats)
Both Otway Pure oat SKUs carry HACCP food-safety and a 5-star Health Star Rating (rating, not certification).
Seafood (Otway Pure yellowfin tuna)
Single SKU. MSC + Dolphin Safe specifically apply to the catch-and-process chain.
Skincare — therapeutic / TGA-listed (EAORON)
EAORON SKUs that make therapeutic claims carry TGA Listed (AUST L) registration; non-therapeutic skincare carries GMP only.
Skincare — cosmetic (Manumax, Thera Lady, Manuka Secrets, G&M)
Cosmetic-only skincare. G&M's ISO 9001 applies at the manufacturer (BRGEM) level for quality management; not all G&M SKUs are individually audited.
Certifications are held by the manufacturer of each product and are independently audited by the issuing body. Certification status can change over time as audits are renewed; the displays here reflect status known to us as of the page's last build. Trade partners can request copies of current certificates via our contact page.
